Listening competence Package
There are so many reasons to improve your listening skills, not the least of which is that poor listening in the workplace can lead to relational stress and failure in contexts that matter most to you, and low communication competence can cost an organization up to $62.4 million per year.* I can help you improve your listening knowledge and skills in this coaching package so that you can a) understand the steps of 6 components of listening and self-assess your strengths and weaknesses in your own listening process and communication competence, b) gain knowledge about 6 different listening styles and self-assess your own unique listening styles and identify their strengths and weaknesses in your relational interactions, c) clarify how your values of listening intersect with the 10 universal ethics of listening, and d) develop your own code of ethics for listening and chart next steps for a plan forward to increase the power of listening in your own leadership, relationships and workplaces.
This package includes three 75-minute visits and the completion of four empirically-grounded self-assessments: 1) HURIER listening model, 2) Communication Competence, 3) Listening Styles Profile-Expanded (LSP-E), and 4) Ethics of Listening. The HURIER listening model and Communication Competence self-assessments will be completed by clients after the first coaching session at their convenience but prior to the second coaching session. In the second coaching visit, these assessments will be discussed and then applied to the specific listening contexts that clients wish to focus on for listening skill improvement. After the second coaching visit, the client will complete the LSP-E and the Ethics of Listening self-assessments at their convenience but before the third coaching session. In the third coaching session, the client will develop their own code of ethics for listening and chart a plan forward to increase the power of listening competence in their lives. Wicked Problems Package
Wicked Problems are tenacious challenges that are challenging to define, have no clear binaries of the exact right or wrong thing to do, have no immediate or ultimate solution, and are caught up in complex systems in which every problem is a symptom of another problem. Do you find you have a Wicked Problem and it’s past time to make progress address that challenge? I can help you a) clarify the questions, b) name the core values impacting and shaping the wicked problem, c) identify the key stakeholders and social networks that are involved in the decision making process, and d) explore different perspectives and plans to help shape policy, procedures and practices for yourself and your communities.
The package includes three 75-minute visits and the completion of one empirically-validated assessment, the Values in Action-Strength Finder (VIA) assessment. This assessment can be completed by clients at a time of their convenience after the first coaching visit, using a secure online portal. In the second coaching visit, these values will be applied to identify key people and processes that intersect with these values and better articulate how they work together to shape the wicked problem. In the third coaching visit, diverse perspectives of the wicked problem will be explored and next steps to begin addressing the resistances to resolution explored. Total package cost: $2,250 (USD).
Leadership And Emotional Intelligence Package
Pursue consulting through coaching designed for leaders and executives to better articulate their values, strengths, and interpersonal styles. Work together to assess a) leadership effectiveness in complex environments, b) growth edges in self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and c) professional priorities in career development. This coaching approach can be especially effective when provided to all members of a leadership team, followed by small group coaching for the team to understand strengths and differences and work together toward more effective collaboration and management skills.
The package includes one 90 minute initial coaching visit, followed by the completion of three empirically-validated assessments: Values in Action-Strength Finder (VIA), Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior (FIRO-B) and Myers-Briggs Trait Inventory (MBTI) for Leadership. All three assessments can be completed by clients at a time of their convenience, using secure online portals. Quantitative and qualitative reports will be completed in preparation for a second 90-minute coaching session, in which the coaching client is invited to apply the findings to the identified needs and action plans. Total package cost: $2,000 (USD).
Conflict Communication Package
Pursue consulting through coaching designed for collaborative work that is experiencing conflict in the workplace. Work together to assess a) perceived interpersonal conflict, b) individual and interactive conflict communication styles, c) shared best outcomes, and d) best ways forward through the conflict engaging effective communication practices. This coaching approach can be especially effective when clients are committed to better understanding themselves and each other and moving forward in ongoing relational teamwork into the future.
The package includes two individual 30 minute initial coaching visits, followed by the completion of two empirically-validated assessments: a conflict communication style assessment and a communication competence assessment. Following this initial orientation to the conflict communication desired outcomes, two individual 90 minute conflict communication coaching sessions will precede the facilitation of two paired/dyadic coaching visits to work through the conflict together. The package closes with two individual 30 minute final coaching visits to set up individualized plans moving forward. Total package cost: $5,500 (USD).
Culture shock and transition package
Have you moved to a different culture and find yourself experiencing heightened stress and exhaustion from adapting to your new space? This may be moving between countries and national cultures, between regions in a country, between different work or organizational cultures, or different family cultures. Whatever the culture shift may be, we can work together to a) assess your experience with cultural transition and culture stress and/or shock, b) develop better understanding of the similarities and differences between your new and previous cultures to help you gain confidence in what is needed in your new space, and c) development of positive steps forward that you can take to successfully navigate adaptation to your new environment while remaining true to yourself.
The package includes one 75-minute initial coaching visit, followed by the completion of a personalized culture-stress/culture-shock assessment at your convenience. This will be followed by a second 75-minute coaching session in which the coaching client is invited to apply the findings to create a set of identified needs and basic action plan. Total package cost: $1,500 (USD).
